At the beginning of World War II, the Luftwaffe was the world's most advanced air force. With superior tactics, aircraft and training, it cut through opposition air forces. The Allies were destroying German aircraft at unequal rates, and Luftwaffe aviators were dying in their thousands in an unbalanced battle to save Germany from destruction. Ένα βιβλίο για την Luftwaffe από τις αρχές έως το τέλος το 1945.
Αναφέρει με λίγες λεπτομέρειες κάθε σχεδόν πτυχή, εξοπλισμό και στολές, αεροσκάφη και τακτικές, μάχες, ιστορία ακόμη και τους αλεξιπτωτιστές και το πεζικό.
Είναι ίσως το καλύτερο εισαγωγικό βιβλίο για το θέμα.
Το ότι έχει και τις εξαιρετικές απλά φωτογραφίες και απεικονίσεις της Osprey το κάνει ακόμη καλύτερο.
Δεν είναι κάτι παραπάνω βέβαια, είναι τελείως επιφανειακό και μόνο κατάλληλο για κάποιον/α που δεν έχει καμία απολύτως σχέση με το θέμα και θέλει ένα "λεξικό" και επιγραμματικά κάποιες πληροφορίες.
Για τον μέσο αναγνώστη π.χ. που δεν έχει μεγάλη όρεξη για περισσότερο ψάξιμο στα εκατοντάδες ειδικά βιβλία, είναι εξαιρετικό συνοδευτικό βιβλίο για κάποια καθαρά ιστορική σειρά π.χ. Beevor.
Για τους υπόλοιπους που θέλουν περισσότερες λεπτομέρειες, ή ξέρουν για το θέμα πέντε πράματα παραπάνω, είναι ένα τελείως περιττό βιβλίο εφόσον δεν προσθέτει τίποτα πέραν των ωραίων φωτο/εικονογραφήσεων.
